Artistic Residency: CLOSED for submissions

Multigraphias is a multimedia art project that includes different formats and artistic languages – video, photo, literature etc – translating the Cities’s poetic since 2008.

Multigraphias is a collaborative project of artistic creation that has already been to Buenos Aires, Mexico, Curitiba, Berlin, London, Porto Alegre, São Paulo, among twenty other cities. It currently holds seven resident artists, but we want  to expand it to 15-20, including 5-10 foreign artists. During their 2 month long residency, the artists have to produce a daily post in different languages, creating a visual dialogue between their cities, their realities.

Each artist produces, in its respective city, the material capable of interacting with other members of the project, following that day’s first post.

Outside art galleries and attentive to urban life, art regains its power of inquiry, inquisition and action. In this game, visual perspectives intersect – the dialogue is born, as the core of the whole project.

PROPOSAL. Make art possible for everyone, everyday. Stimulate dialogue between people. Encourage sensitive and artistic connections with cities around the world.

SUBMISSIONS. Send a personal bio along with 3 artworks to multigraphias[at]gmail.com until July, 8.

SELECTION. Artists will be selected by a comission of the current multigraphists artists.

RESIDENT RESPONSABILITY. Post new material at least four times a week, always following the dialogue with the previous published artworks. Use wordpress system to post (use instructions will be supplied).

ALTERNATIVE PROJECTS. Besides the internet posting, different projects might be created using the published artworks – magazines, exhibitions etc. On that case a usage authorization will be asked for the artist, who will allow his artwork to be used on the project.
